"This hotel really surprised me for the better! We mainly booked in order to have a separate bedroom for the kids, but since it was cheap, I decided to book the all-inclusive, not sure if it could really include our dinner. It did and it was good! Highlights: - Best all-inclusive deal ever! Nice food with something for everyone at every meal and self-serve fountain drinks including beer and wine. - The pool area was also nice with a modern stainless steel pool, loungers, etc. (We didn't use the saunas, but I'm guessing they were nice or at least fine.) - In general, the lobby is nice and I really liked the restaurant setup - there is regular indoor seating, but also an indoor-outdoor greenhouse-type area, outdoor seating with a sun cover, and a few tables outdoor in the light. Very comfy. :-) You can also lounge out on the deck in the sun or shade during the day and grab a drink from the food area so it felt very welcoming and open. - Staff was friendly and welcoming Our room was still a WIP, I'm guessing: - Fine and looked like the pictures - generally about what I was expecting, but older oak (?) furniture & typical hotel carpeting. - The bed in the kids' room was really hard - the one in the main room had boxspring mattresses, but the other was okay for kids, but not really for adults - The room had a weird cut with a huge (nicely updated!) bathroom - we had a shower, bathtub, toilet and 2 sinks, plus a second "powder room" with toilet & sink - Huge balcony in our case :)"

This turned out to be a 15 minute walk away, hugely irritating as I arrived after dark in a new town by taxi. I was then told that the spa/sauna facilities were not working at the apartments and so I would have to use the facilities at the hotel, just not convenient at all. Once in my room, I found the TV was not working, the remote control was disgustingly covered in someone else's food, the soap and shampoo dispensers were empty, and I was given one single duvet and one small pillow (for a double bed). The only route for me to complain was by text as no one was on reception. The TV got fixed the next day (I was only staying 4 nights), but I was told as I was staying by myself that I only got 1 single duvet and 1 pillow. They also advertise a morning bread service but as there was no one at reception to take the order, I couldn't use that. I was told 2 days later that I could order that via the sister hotel, kind of pointless to then be told that with only 1 day of my holiday left. These guys could not care less about their guests. Completely lacking in any kind of attention to service, and insulting in their response. They eventually offered me EUR32 in compensation on a EUR 700 stay. Insulting to say the least. Stay away from VAYA Kaprun"
