"The general condition of the hotel is poor, old, tired and a bit scruffy. The rooms just about fit the bill, but the bathrooms are very small. "Room was cold so we put on the a/c. It blew cold air continually. We thought it would eventually blow warm air. At 3am my husband was so cold we decided to leave for home. The checkout lady told us we should have gone to her as it’s controlled at reception. Would have been good to know this."

"The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the view from the breakfast room was delightful. Breakfast was a normal hotel spread and well set out. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was clean though very dark because I was on the wooded side of the building. The big let down was the state of the windows which must have been neglected for years and had to be propped open with a block of wood left on the window sill. General decoration was in need of a refurb and the main entrance doorway was in need of repainting. I assume the whole building is due an update and I'm sure it will all be lovely next time I book in."

"Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly but having stayed in bannatyne hotels previously, this one is extremely disappointing. No breakfast was included nor was the gym so all additional extras and to be told if I booked direct the gym would have been included is very unhelpful. The one morning I went over to the health club for breakfast I was greeted by a very unhappy woman behind the till in the cafe who complained she had too much going on by herself. This might have had something to do with 5 members of staff stood at reception talking! Definitely won’t be staying here again, utterly ridiculous!"
