It was a great place to stay. Close enough to everything that you want to see. The Underground is close and gets you where you want to be within 30 minutes. The area of the hotel is a little rough but that did not take away from my stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Room generally OK, warm, clean linen and twoels.
Shared kitchen nice and tidy, microwave, fridge, all you need to make a continental breakfast
shared bathroom facilities shocking. Dirty toilet, radiator hanging off the wall. The only good point was the temperature was nice and cosy
no wifi coverage on top floor, as the router is on the ground floor.

This building is just as beautiful and striking as it appears in images. In fact, it's possibly more impressive when you realise how idiosyncratically labyrinthine it is. After some confusion upon arrival (I checked in after 10pm and there was already someone else in my bed) I was reassigned to a 4 bed mixed dorm at the very top of the building. It seemed comically impossible to find, but after a few twists and turns, a non literal knight in literally shining armour, a walk-through shower room complete with hidden stairs, I chanced upon it! After a seriously tiring day of travelling under some uncharacteristically sweltering London sun, I was genuinely overjoyed to see the room had an electric fan. This was the single most impresive thing that room could possibly have had. I abandoned my stuff and went down to the bar to catch the end of the world cup final. Extra time and the atmosphere was electric - everyone rooting for Germany and not an empty seat in the place!I I only wish I had gotten to the hostel earlier to enjoy it in good company. The bar staff were laid back and friendly. My friend & I curled up on the sofas to chat long after the bar closed. I would definitely recommend this place. My room being overbooked was unfortunate, but it seemed like no big deal to the largely disinterested staff member I dealt with. I guess that is still preferable to dealing with someone who doesn't know how to handle these occurences. It all worked out well in the end.

Wonderful experience. I stayed for 2 days and everything was above expectations. I was staying in Clink 261 for few days then I switched to this hostel and I found it better than former one in every aspect.

"Great place considering it's location and price."
Given that this place is a two star budget hotel, right next to chalk farm tube station, this represents excellent value.
The bed was not super comfortable but certain no worse than a travelodge or similar budget hotel. The room was clean, certainly on or better than any other hotel in the area at that price.
Bit short on facilities but has a fully working ensure and ththe shower was reasonable certainly better than many others of similar price.
Overall would highly recommend if you want good value no frills accommodation.
