"A very memorable experience"
We had a great time at the Hotel Montmartre Mon Amour - it was very tastefully decorated. The room was excellent, great lighting, and very romantic. The loo was a bit small, but the separate sink/shower room was adaquate. We walked or used the Metro to get around everywhere. This was great, but it did mean that we had 2 roads built on a hill to climb at night to return back to the hotel. A taxi could also get you there, but it was more expensive than what we wanted to spend. Definitely rely closely on the maps and local signs - we got lost several times trying to make our way around the city, or back to the hotel. Within a few days though we got our bearings about us and could get back without issue. Room service/breakfast service looked great, but it was too expensive for us. We opted instead to go to local patisseries. We also tended to stop at a local market on our way back at night to get water/juice/soda, as the hotel didn't have much available that we saw. They did have wine for room service that could be ordered. All of the staff was incredibly friendly. During check-in, we got a great overview of the 18th Arrondisemont (local district), as well as advice about the Metro, and a map of Paris and the Montmartre area.

"Great location and view of the Eiffel Tower!"
We had a standard room and enjoyed an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower from the rooftop terrace. Before booking this hotel, I read other mixed reviews and was hesitant to see what a standard room was going to offer? Typically you have higher expectations that are different from reality. I felt the room was a good size for 2 adults with desk, closet, in-room safe and balcony to enjoy the view. Each evening we found the rooftop terrace empty of guests so we enjoyed a bottle of champagne privately. At 9:00, the Eiffel does a glitter light show for 5 minutes and then returns to the standard lighting. I travel to Paris every 2 months for work and am used to smaller rooms compared to those found in the U.S. Space is limited in Paris so there is not room for large hotels like those in the U.S. The Terrass hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the Place de Cliche metro stop along with The Moulin Rouge is also near this metro stop. Buy your tickets in advance as they do sell out. I found all of the front desk clerks very friendly and very helpful! I was told by the front desk clerks that The Terrass Hotel will be completely shut down in November 2014 for 3-4 months for a total renovation and unfortunately, the room rates will increase after the renovations. I found the day and evening front desk clerks all to be friendly and helpful! No question I will definitely stay here again!

"Nice hotel good location"
Read a few reviews about the area being "rough" so was a little nervous but I had no need to worry! Well located near to metro station and only a 15 minute walk to sacre coeur. Really helpful staff too!

"Bit further but worth the extra 5 minutes on Metro"
Don't usually write reviews but we had a really good experience at this hotel. I usually stay more centrally but found it expensive finding a decent triple room for me and the children without paying loads more and cheaper rooms nearer the centre had scuzzy photos from other travellers. We expected the room to be quite cosy as they always are in 3* hotels in Paris but it was clean and comfortable - the bathroom spotless - loads of hot water, towels changed. The staff were friendly and helpful - we asked if the double bed could be separated and it was done without fret. Big fridge in reception to buy big bottles of Evian and other soft drinks. Breakfast was generous for the price and they went out to buy extra patisserie when some people came down late - again, no complaints from staff that the others had come down right at the end of the breakfast time range. The hotel is opposite the exit of the Metro so really convenient for getting into the centre quickly and the line is a fast one. Only downside was the metro journey from the Gare du Nord with a heavy suitcase, but on return we walked to Porte de Clignancourt and took quick 3 stop ride back. (Tip: leave case at station in morning in left luggage if you want to make the most of your day without returning to hotel). This hotel is not in a smart area of Paris so don't expect it to be full of BCBG locals. However, for the price it is excellent.

I have stayed here before, shall do so again. Nice quiet rooms with great breakfast and 20 minutes walk to work. Just enough for exercise, not too much to get tedious. Helpful staff. Well outside the action. Just what I want after a busy day.

"Much better than anticipated"
After already having booked this hotel, I felt like cancelling it after reading some of the online comments about it, as of the last six months. I persevered though, and was pleasantly surprised. The Hotel About 500m from Gare du Nord station. Very convenient to Sacre Couer, Moulin Rouge and to centre of Paris. The hotel is still undergoing renovations, but was quiet during the afternoon and night. There is a toilet on each floor - quite small, and of a hostel standard rather than a hotel, but hey, that's most Parisian (and European) hotels for you. It was clean, and that's what matters. There were two hostel like showers on the third floor - didn't use them though, but they looked fine. The Room I stayed in room number 1. The room was clean and tidy. Powerpoints are an issue, but there is a TV in the room that can be unplugged and its point used. There was a basin and bidet. Linen was freshly laundered. Bed was comfortable. The Staff Pleasant and efficient. You drop the key off at reception on the way out - came back at about 11.30pm and was let in promptly (though no ID was asked for when I picked up my room key, which is a no-no). The Location Close to Gare du Nord. Lots of cafes/bistros/patisseries about. Close to metro. Just off a main street, so a little noisy during the day, but very quiet during the night. A few dodgy characters on the way from Gare du Nord encountered, but hey, that's Paris for you!
